The research project seeks to study the relationship between emotional intelligence and the manifestation of anxiety and perfectionism in intensive foreign language learning, since this subject is not yet adequately covered by the body of research. The article believes the problem studied is interesting and relevant both for psychological science and for practical and consultative psychology. The study is a new topical development of scientific and psychological research. The study indicates a strong relationship between anxiety, perfectionism of various forms, general intelligence on the one hand, and emotional intelligence on the other. The study shows effective ways to develop emotional intelligence in order to overcome psychological barriers in the form of anxiety and perfectionism. The authors of the article propose a program that provides for the use of an integrated approach in the development of emotional intelligence. The article describes the stages of the program that students underwent. As a result of the proposed program, there was an improvement in students’ self-knowledge processes in a foreign language, an increase in the level of self-regulation of the emotions they experienced, and understanding of these emotions in a foreign language, as well as increasing motivation and strengthening social communication skills in a foreign language.
