АННОТАЦИЯ
The article describes the author's technique «Free sorting of animals», which is used for the diagnosis of cognitive style narrow/wide range of equivalency cognitive style in early school age. Difficulties in the diagnosis of a narrow/wide range of equivalency in adolescence were taken into account during the development of the technique. It is presented in the article. The material for sorting is pictures of birds and animals with their titles (that is visual and verbal row at a time). Two extreme subgroups were distinguished by means of cluster analysis (n = 151): productive «differentiators» and unproductive «globalists». Also an intermediate subgroup «categorizers» is distinguished. It occupies a middle position in the space of main and additional indicators.
