АННОТАЦИЯ
The paper is concerned with one of the traditional problems of psychophysics: difference of estimates of sensory sensitivity when measuring it with different methods. Data obtained with the aid of mean error method (MEM) and forced choice method (FCM) were compared in the experiment on differention of slopes of lines. It was found that the variability of results with the MEM proved to be lower as compared to the FCM. The most significant factors underlying the high efficiency of the MEM are, in the authors' opinion, the following: the duration of time of observation and the organization of the subject's motor activity. If these factors are taken into account, it is possible to pass on from the MEM data to those of the FCM which is the most precise method of estimation of sensitivity. This points to the possibility of using the value of standard deviation in case of the MEM for characterisation of sensory sensitivity. ,
