АННОТАЦИЯ
The results of a study of the psychological consequences of the experience of combat-related traumatic stress in persons who participated in the combat in Afghanistan are presented. A group of Afghan veterans Cn= 105) with no signs of organic brain lesion or other psychotic disorders who also had no serious wounds or physical trauma in their anamneses were studied using a structured clinical interview for DSM-III-R. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) was found in 18 persons (17 percent); 65 veterans were classified as "normal," and the rest showed isolated signs of PTSD. A comparative analysis was made of the results of an examination of the group with PTSD and the njrmal group and with findings from analogous studies of veterans from the war in Vietnam. A correlation was found berween the pframeters of the combat situation and the development later of PTSD. A distincrive characteristic found in the examenation of the Afghan veterans was a high rating of traumatic (causing the gravest subjective responses) situations associated with "ninprescribed relations".
